Carnival Splendor at Dover

The Carnival Splendor cruise ship is the biggest to sail out of Dover weighing in at 133300 tonnes. We were talking about this ship about a year ago and it was great to finally see it.

Many thanks to our neighbours who gave us free tickets to the Kent Show. Jack was far more fun this year being able to walk and knowing the animal names. We had a good but very tiring day.

Day out in Brighton and Gok Wan

We took the train from Hamstreet to Brighton but after a lorry hit a bridge in the Bexhill area we were delayed and instead of the one train from Hamstreet to Brighton we had to take three. Eventually at Brighton we had a lovely strole along the front and had lunch on the pier. After lunch we walked back along the front to where Endemol where filming a style contest with Gok Wan. Tracy loves Gok’s tv shows.

Day of shopping at Lakeside and Ikea

As I had worked the previous night I had a day off and we ventured to Lakeside shopping centre followed by Ikea. Unlike previous trips where we came home empty handed we made up for it on this trip. We bought 27 seperate items in Primark alone! :shock:

The Toot Toots at RHDR

Jack loves his toot toots but normally he is scared of the noise the big trains make so we took him on the much smaller trains at The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

Godstone Play Farm

Tracy and Jack went to Godstone Play Farm today with Gavin, Louise, Callum, Neil, Claire and Kai. Unfortunatly I was oncall and working so couldn’t go with them. The kids could stroke rabbits, guinea pigs, lambs etc.

Bluey the Bluetit

Our resident bluetit

Straight after my father made us a birdbox and we put it up on the wall outside the backdoor Mr and Mrs Bluetit moved in. Since then the eggs have hatched and the parents spend most of the day collecting grubs etc for their hungry children.
